Once again we will stream live on the Mayflower Council’s Facebook and YouTube pages. At this month’s meeting we will have the latest updates on the Cub Scout program, a super cool STEM based activity, and a virtual crossover ceremony. Include your Scouts and upload individual pictures of Scouts who are crossing over to the next rank by Friday, June 19.
Have you ever wondered what’s it like to be an inventor? Spend 30 inspiring minutes learning from Inventor Mentor Terry Murray!! See Terry’s magical lab and some of his crazy inventions!! Find out how Terry became an inventor and what inspires him!! Learn how to set up your own inventor lab with some starter materials and projects so you can start inventing!
Inventors need to become familiar with all types of materials so that they can more easily build what they see in their mind!! PVC pipe and fittings are a great beginner material to learn how to use!! PVC is very inexpensive, it cuts easily to any length, and it comes with a variety of fittings so the pieces can be fit together into any shape!! Terry uses PVC extensively in his inventions!
To help your child begin their inventing adventure we suggest you invest in the materials below. Our video will provide some beginner PVC inventions for your child to create. We can also supply a few kits if your family is affected by the Covid 19 due to financial issues. (Kit would not include PVC cutter). Respond to Jack Colamaria by June 19th.
