Scouting For Food
A Cub Scout promises to “give goodwill”, a Scouts BSA promises “to help other people at all times.”, and a Venturer promises “to help others”. There is no better way to show your Scouting spirit than by participating in the annual Scouting for Food drive! Now is the time to show your community the Scouting values of being loyal, helpful, kind and cheerful.
Scouting for Food is when you and over 10,000+ other Scouts throughout the Mayflower Council, BSA help make a difference to fight hunger. This council-wide service project begins Saturday, November 2nd, as Scouts distribute door hangers in their neighborhoods to announce the upcoming food drive. Scouts return the following Saturday, November 9th, to pick up and deliver donations to their local food banks and pantries.
How can you help make a difference? Talk to your scoutmaster, cubmaster, crew advisor, or den leader today and let them know you want to help make a difference.
This year WCVB will be our media partner. Harvey Leonard and Mike Wankum are our honorary chair’s for this year’s campaign.
Identify a town/unit coordinator and order your door hangers today.
We want to hear from you even if your unit runs a drive at another time in the year!
