Merit Badge University 2018 (MBU)

Click here for an information update on the postponement of Merit Badge University, Saturday, March 3rd.

The Merit Badge University (MBU) event provides over 1,000 scouts with the opportunity to complete three merit badges during the month of March.  Held on the 1st, 2nd and 4th Saturdays, Scouts attend three merit badge classes, each about one-hour long.  A number of badges (such as Aviation) provide field trips during the “off week” to complete out-of-classroom requirements.

For first-year Scouts and WEBLOS that crossover prior to the first session, MBU offers a 2-hour Flight-to-Eagle program which covers a selection of Tenderfoot, Second Class, and First Class rank requirements.  This program helps these younger Scouts focus on early rank requirements, while giving them the opportunity to take one merit badge class.

Attended by over 100 troops each year, MBU helps Scouts gain access to merit badge instruction for badges that are not typically available through their troop’s program.

**ALL scouts must register through their troop to attend MBU**

Below, you will find all necessary documents regarding MBU information including handouts for unit leaders and scouts. If you have registered through your unit, please ask your unit leader or unit MBU coordinator about which classes you are taking as well as any other information about MBU that you may have questions about!
