Registration deadline: the day before, but we still allow walk-ins.
This event is for all Cub Scout leaders! Here’s what we’ll offer:
- In-person position-specific training.
- Workshops on topics such as crafts, skits and songs, ceremonies, working with youth with disabilities, and more.
- Leader guides for sale, registration materials, and other resources to save you a trip to the council office or the Scout store.
- Outdoor cooking demos and a delicious lunch!
- Fun activities for your Cub-age youth.
- A chance to meet fellow leaders and get resources to start the new year off strong!
Training Schedule
Activities will run from 8:30 AM to 2:00 PM. Drop in for whichever sessions you want! Here are the specifics:
Morning session (8:30-12:30):
- Position-specific training for your role (Den Leader, Cubmaster, or Committee Member). This is part of the requirements to earn the “Trained” patch. We’re following the new national curriculum, which requires a full four hours–similar to the amount of time it takes to get trained online, but more fun!
- A variety of 1-hour workshops for people who’ve already taken position-specific training. Register now to tell us what specific topics you’d like us to include!
Afternoon session (12:30-2:00):
- Supplemental position-specific training for anyone who took the morning session and wants to be covered for additional positions.
- Additional workshops on topics of interest.
We’ll also be running Den Chief training for Scouts BSA and Venturers who are interested in serving as Den Chiefs for a Cub Scout pack.
Lunch is $5; the training is free. Registration is not required, but we’d appreciate pre-registration so you can reserve your spot and help us plan food and supplies.
