In an abundance of caution, we will be canceling the Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills (IOLS), that is scheduled for April 4-5 because this event brings a large number of Scouters together. As might be expected with such a fluid set of circumstances, we cannot give you a definitive date when or if the training will be rescheduled. We will be issuing full refunds to everyone by the end of the month.
Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills (IOLS) is an overnight hands-on training for Scouts BSA and Venturing leaders. It covers a variety of outdoor camping skills, including cooking, knots and lashings, map and compass, woods tools, and more. Learn new skills, reinforce old ones, and build confidence to teach these skills to Scouts. For Scoutmasters and Assistant Scoutmasters, this course is part of the requirements to earn the “Trained” patch. It is also part of the requirements for adult leaders of a Venturing Crew that runs an outdoor program.
This version of the course will start on Saturday morning. We will have you on your way home by noon on Sunday.
Registration Deadline: March 30
Non-Mayflower Council Leaders Cost: $30.00
